2008 EASTER MESSAGE OF VP NOLI
March 23, 2008

As we rejoice with the entire Christian world in the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, it is my ardent prayer that we do not lose sight of the reason for His suffering and death.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Nazarene who carried the cross in severe human pain, has gloriously risen.

The Risen Lord not only conquered pain and death to redeem us from our sins but also to show us the path to Truth. For indeed, it is our faith that it’s only through the Son of God that we shall know the Truth, as Jesus Christ Himself is the Truth.

As we, the Filipino people, continue our collective search for the whole and liberating truth, it is best if we reflect on the lessons taught by Easter, the most important feast of our faith. By just following the perfect example of Jesus Christ, we will undoubtedly reach the Truth.

It is through our faith in Jesus and by sacrifice that we begin to seek adulation for ourselves less, and yearn for truth and justice for others more.

I join our countrymen in the hope and prayer that our nation may also be blessed by the gift of a new beginning, a new day that the Resurrection brings. As we leave the divisions of the past, we look forward to joining hands with one another as we move our country on the path of peace, unity and development.
