I have the highest respect for the Lakas and Kampi parties. However, I believe it is not yet time for me to engage in partisan politics.

In the midst of the global financial crisis and its adverse effects on the economy, now is the time for all Filipinos to unite, work hard and direct our efforts towards alleviating the hardships of our poor countrymen.

Now is the time for solidarity and cooperation of all sectors of society. Partisan politics will have to wait a while.

As of now, effective public service is my mission.
