VP NOLI HELPS 28 UNDOCUMENTED OFWs GO HOME

Vice President Noli "Kabayan" De Castro announced yesterday the repatriation of 28 undocumented Filipinos who were given assistance by his office and the Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration (OWWA) to be able to go home.

De Castro said that the 28 OFWs worked in Jordan as domestic helpers and are now scheduled to return home and arrive in Manila on November 01.

The following are the OFWs bound to go home: Leslie Abuela, Mary Agnes, Aisa Angkan, Jennifer Calvo, Genifer Candinato, Maricel Carlos, Violeta Castro, Ivy Castillo, Cherry Constante, Lilibeth Daquinan, Bebelyn Fajardo, Juvie Gandez, Nerissa Galit, Suraida Hamid, Marilou Lubiano, Cheryl Lumawag, Mirasol Maborang, Kristine Joy Melote, Norhata Mohamad, Zalgelyn Perez, Normina Pinagunay, Chery Pugado, Princess Diana Pugado (3 mos. old baby), Jonie Romero, Laila sangacala, Maisara Sara, Melissa Sarmiento and Alibai Salipadtu.

De Castro, also presidential adviser on OFWs, said that with the numerous incidents of sad plights of Filipinos working abroad, OFWs must understand that for their own protection they must go through the proper legal processes of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) before they leave the country.

He also advised OFWs to prepare for their jobs abroad psychologically, mentally and emotionally by undergoing the stress management skills training being offered through POEA.
