VP NOLI GIVES EARLY CHRISTMAS GIFTS TO CALOOCAN RELOCATEES
November 15, 2008
Vice President and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Noli “Kabayan” De Castro gave out Christmas gifts to some 2,800 families in Caloocan, handing to them the keys to their new homes in Northville 2-B Resettlement Project in Barangay Bagumbong in Caloocan City recently (November 14).
The families were informal settlers in the Northrail-Southrail Linkage Project Caloocan City segment who agreed for an In-City relocation.
For their cooperation and support, the Vice President expressed his appreciation. “I am happy that your initiative and cooperation to be relocated paved the way
for the development of the Northrail Project and the Rail Linkage Project which will enhance the rail transport system north of Manila from Caloocan-North to Clark and south of manila from Caloocan-South all the way down to Alabang,” De Castro said.
“But the first to benefit from this are your own families since you will no longer celebrate the coming Christmas as informal settlers but as homeowners,” he added.
On this note, De Castro asked the homeowners to take care of their houses and advised them to grow vegetable-bearing plants where they could derive their own food.
De Castro also lauded the local government under the leadership of Mayor Enrico “Recom” Echiverri for supporting the government housing project.
